The COVID-19 pandemic and its attendant lockdown interrupted life as we knew it, and SABDA’s electronic newsletter introducing new publications was no exception. Previously our eNews went out periodically to inform you of new books, and we were sending your overseas orders by both air and sea mail. Towards the end of March 2020, as lockdowns around the world were imposed, the sending of parcels was completely suspended. In September 2020, air mail delivery was slowly resumed as individual countries began opening up over the ensuing months, but sea mail services remained suspended indefinitely. Because many of you received books by sea mail, we were waiting for that service to begin again. As air mail delivery for almost all countries is active now, but sea mail is still not an option, we are going ahead with our regular eNews bulletins. This issue will list all new publications since January 2020.

A few books of note are highlighted here:

	New Correspondences of the Mother, volume I Price: Rs 250 New Correspondences of the Mother, volume II Price: Rs 320 These correspondences were not published as part of the Collected Works of the Mother, but appeared later in various issues of the Bulletin of Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education or in independent volumes connected to a few of the disciples. Several of the correspondences are published here for the first time.
	The Origins of Aryan Speech by Sri Aurobindo Price: Rs 65 The material in this book is extracted from Vedic and Philological Studies, Volume 14 of the Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo, and contains the title essay as well as other writings on philology and a selection of his notes of simple root-sounds and their most general meanings.
	Essays in Vedic Interpretation by Sri Aurobindo Price: Rs 110 The essays in this book are Sri Aurobindo’s initial exploratory writings on Vedic interpretation that he had left unpublished. Many ideas and examples that occur in The Secret of the Veda are found in these earlier pieces, along with other material. They are reprinted here from Part One of Vedic and Philological Studies, volume 14 of the Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo.
	Sri Aurobindo’s Talks of 1926 recorded by Anilbaran Roy Price: Rs 160 Anilbaran Roy’s account is his record of informal conversations between Sri Aurobindo and about a dozen of his disciples between May and September 1926. These talks were serialised in part for Mother India during the early 1950s and in full between 1977 and 1986 for Sri Aurobindo Circle.
	Sri Aurobindo: The Life and Times of the Mahayogi by Manoj Das Price: Rs 750 This meticulously researched account of Sri Aurobindo’s pre-Pondicherry life is a revised and substantially enlarged version of an earlier work published in 1972, Sri Aurobindo in the First Decade of the Century. The book is mostly built upon archival documents and extracts from personal diaries published and unpublished, and extant reminiscences.
	Manifestation of the Divine: Prayers given by the Mother to Mona Sarkar Price: Rs 685 Written between 1949 and 1973, this collection of about a hundred prayers encouraged in the young Mona the qualities that would lead him closer to the Mother, closer to a knowledge of his soul. Some were written to help Mona through some difficulty, to teach him how to call intensely for the Mother’s presence.
	Talks by Nirodbaran (August 1970 — March 1971) Price: Rs 260 In these talks to the students Nirodbaran shares his reminiscences and those of fellow sadhaks, describing Ashram life during the 1920s and relating incidents from Sri Aurobindo’s life during the 1930s and ‘40s.

To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo in 2022 a significant number of books were published. Many are discourses on his major works, notably The Life Divine, Savitri, The Synthesis of Yoga, and Essays on the Gita. Others are appreciations of his life and work. One compendium titled Reading Sri Aurobindo dedicates a short introductory essay on each volume of The Complete Works of Sri Aurobindo. In addition, the popular series The English of Savitri is now complete with the publication of Volumes Six to Twelve.
